Why a Healer?

Publicado: 2010-07-08

This question popped into my mind, so I decided to answer it here.

I believe each of us is born with certain gifts, to aid us in our evolution. While I took my daily walk, I started thinking our gifts are like the weapons of a warrior, who will need most of them during his/her quest.

According to how our life develops, we can choose to use our sword or our shield or our bazooka. The more we use one of these weapons, the better we get at it. We may choose to use some of the weapons in our bag, and drop them early in our journey, we might start using others mid-road and some we might save for the last. We might even choose to keep some in our bags without using them, in which case we do not develop their usage further.

Healing is one of my gifts. I chose to develop it during my late twenties and took me some more years to quite figure it out.

With the acceptance of our gifts, many things come along. It is very much like Campbell describes it in his book "The Power of Myth"; we are all Heros. And so, Magic does show up, the Feminine side of life does show up, all the things he writes about, they are all real. We really live a story, just as Shakespeare said, "life is a stage in which we are all actors."

Having understood that, I found out that the reason why I'm a Healer is because when I do what makes me happy, people around me start to feel better. And I was so happy when I found that out, that I wanted to develop more gifts to make me even happier. The happier I am, the less room for worry, the more to enjoy.

Love, light and blessings be.
